PURCHASING EXECUTIVE

OBJECTIVES:

Support the Purchasing Manager and other team members to perform administrative tasks surrounding the purchasing function.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administration of the purchasing department
  • Check market availability using Quantum and internet databases
  • Obtain quotes from identified sources
  • Update quotes in Quantum and Procurement files
  • Negotiate prices based on guidance and target set by management
  • Place orders and follow-up to ensure lead times are met
  • Report issues faced with vendors
  • Update distribution folders as and when required
  • Liaise with the Technical Department to verify interchangeability and modifications

CUSTOMER SERVICE AND INTERFACE:
  • Day to day communication & interface with vendors
  • Exceeding internal customers expectation and company standards

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
  • Willingness to be flexible to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Highly motivated with a capability to handle demanding workload that requires accuracy
  • Proven ability to solve problems promptly and effectively
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word 
  • Proven commitment and ability to maintain a positive professional attitude in stressful and demanding situations
